There are fewer places darker than a prison cell. There, separated from all that they ever knew or loved, men are struggling with feelings of despair and hopelessness.
As they search for some sense of meaning and purpose for their lives, they wonder if anyone outside the walls of the prison knows or cares about their struggles.
This Father’s Day, Compassion is reaching out to fathers who are spending this holiday behind bars, apart from their loved ones.
As a small token of appreciation, and our Father’s Day gift to them, we are providing them with a men’s devotional book, a little spending cash for the commissary, and an encouraging, handwritten note.
We want them to know that they are valued, and that while circumstances may not be what they would hope for, there is still hope for a better tomorrow.
